Paradise in a P-Patch

by Alyse on Wednesday, May 26, 2010

A happily traveled path trough a city of perfectly divided plots of heaven. This is Picardo Farm, Seattle’s original community garden. DSC_0126The term P-Patch is specific to Seattle and where the “P” in P-Patch is actually for Picardo, not pea. For a complete listing and map of Seattle’s 83 public P-Patches as well as a history lesson, see http://www.seattle.gov/neighborhoods/ppatch/ You’ll also find links to great resources like http://www.urbangardenshare.org/, a website dedicated to bringing communities and neighbors closer together by uniting gardeners with private land owners to share garden space and share the rewards.
